I'm an agricultural and resource economist, and my research focuses on interactions between agricultural production, land use patterns, and environmental quality. I investigate the cause of land use change and its economic and environmental consequences. I study the optimal design of agricultural and environmental policy, and explore how policy affects consumer and producer behaviors and how change in behaviors in turn affects the efficiency and distributional impacts of policy.
